‘Gone far too soon’ - Waterford woman tells touching story about late Glen Hansard

The Waterford woman told a story of her dad’s interactions with Mr Hansard
A woman from County Waterford has told a touching story regarding the late Irish musician Glen Hansard.
In a tribute posted to RIP.ie, the woman named Vivienne said: “A number of years ago, Glen’s mam Catherine was in the same ward as my dad in hospital.
“As their beds were side by side, when Glen would come in he would chat away to my dad.
“He would sing Glen’s praises, telling me how friendly and down to earth Glen was.”
Vivienne said that she has heard many similar stories following Mr Hansard’s tragic death in a road accident last week.
“A similar story to the many I've read about since his passing. He always made time for the people, and never forgot his roots.
“Sadly, all three have passed now and Glen is reunited with his dear mother and all those gone before us.
“His songs and voice have touched my heart and the hearts of so many the world over, and will continue to do so.”
She concluded by passing on her condolences to Mr Hansard’s family and friends.
“My heart goes out to his wife Maire, his gorgeous boy Christy, his siblings, family and many many friends.
“Rest peacefully now Glen. Gone far too soon.”
Tens of thousands of tributes have flooded in from across the world following Mr Hansard’s tragic passing last week.
His Requiem Mass is taking place at St Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin this afternoon.
May He Rest in Peace.
