Waterford public invited to historical talk at Blackfriars Abbey

A lunchtime talk on the history of Blackfriars Abbey is set to take place on the site next week.

The talk, entitled, 'The historical, conservation and archaeological aspects of Blackfriars Abbey' will take place at Blackfriars on Wednesday, September 26 at 12.45pm.

There will be presentations by Des Griffin on behalf of Waterford Civic Trust, Fintan Duffy, conservation architect, Orla Scully, archaeologist, Rose Ryall Conservation, Waterford Council, and a question and answer session about the archaeology and the conservation work being undertaken by Tony Jones, Master stonemason and the LTI/WWETB training and skills development initiative.

This talk is hosted by Waterford Civic Trust in association with Waterford City and County Council and Waterford Wexford Educational Training Board.
