Gardaí share age progressed image of Imelda Keenan who disappeared in Waterford 31 years ago
Gardaí have issued a fresh appeal for information regarding the disappearance of Laois woman Imelda Keenan who went missing in Waterford 31 years ago.
Imelda, who was originally from Mountmellick, County Laois, was last seen in Waterford City on 3 January, 1994.
In the hopes of gaining new information on the disappearance, gardaí have released an age progressed image of Imelda who would now be 53-years-old.
Imelda had moved to Waterford in the late 1980s to do a computer course. She had been living in an apartment on William's Street with her fiancé until she disappeared in 1994.
Gardaí say that on the day that Imelda went missing, she had left her apartment at 1:30pm and walked down William Street onto Lombard Street.

The last confirmed sighting of Imelda was at the corner of the Tower Hotel and Lombard Street, where she was seen crossing the street. Her brother, Edward, and fiancé reported Imelda missing when she did not return home.
Unfortunately, there has been no other confirmed sightings of Imelda in the years since.
Last month, Imelda's family appeared on Crimecall to appeal for further information. Speaking on the show, her older brother, Gerry Keenan, said: "Imelda is on my mind 24 hours a day and the pain that we are enduring is much the same as the weekend that our sister went missing 30 years ago."
Urging anyone with any information to come forward, Gerry added: "Until I have the last breath in my body, I will keep searching."
Commenting on the renewed appeal, Superintendent Gavin Hegarty said: "Imelda, 22 years old and originally from Mountmellick in County Laois, was a resident of Waterford City while pursuing her studies when she disappeared without a trace.
"Imelda was known for her quiet demeanor, her love of music and her strong family ties. Despite extensive investigations spanning 31 years, the silence surrounding her fate remains unbroken. We continue to urge anyone with information or the ability to assist our investigation to come forward."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Gardaí at Waterford Garda Station on (051) 305 300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
