Irish Rail passengers on the Waterford to Dublin line will have to transfer to a bus for part of the journey

Major engineering works are taking place near Heuston Station on Saturday, October 31.

In particular, track renewal works and architectural surveys are being carried out between Heuston and Hazelhatch.

These works will affect all services in and out of the station, including those on the Waterford line.

On the Waterford line, the train service will be replaced by a bus between Athy and Heuston Station.

Passengers travelling from Waterford to Dublin will have to transfer to a bus in Athy.

Similarly, those travelling from Dublin to Waterford will have to get a bus to Athy before embarking the train to Waterford.

Train services on the Cork, Limerick and Galway lines will also face disruption.

Irish Rail has apologised to its customers for any inconvenience caused.
