University Hospital Waterford has second highest number of patients on trolleys and ward in Ireland

Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation trolley and ward watch figures for Friday (July 13).

There are 38 people on trolleys and the ward at University Hospital Waterford on Friday (July 13), according to the latest trolley and ward watch figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO).

University Hospital Waterford has the second highest amount of of patients on trolleys and the ward in the country, with an increase of 18 patients in 24 hours. 

The nationwide figure is 289, a decrease of 4% on the same day last year when there were 302 patients on trolleys.

Hospitals with the highest numbers on trolleys and wards include University Hospital Limerick (44) and Tallaght Hospital (36). 

Other INMO figures for Friday include South Tipperary General Hospital (7), Wexford General Hospital (1) and Kilkenny's St Luke's Hospital (19).
