There are 20 people on trolleys and the ward at University Hospital Waterford on Thursday (July 12), according to the latest trolley and ward watch figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.
The nationwide figure is 296, a decrease of 13% on the same day last year when there were 341 patients on trolleys.
The hospitals with the highest numbers on Thursday are University Hospital Limerick (51), Cork University Hospital (31) and Tallaght Hospital (28)
Other figures for Thursday include South Tipperary General Hospital (18), Wexford General Hospital (1) and Kilkenny's St Luke's Hospital (18)
