There are 10 people on trolleys and the ward at University Hospital Waterford on Wednesday (July 11), according to the latest trolley and ward watch figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.
The nationwide figure is 284, a decrease of 20% on the same day last year when there were 357 patients on trolleys.
The hospitals with the highest numbers on Wednesday are University Hospital Limerick (37) and University Hospital Galway (28).
Other figures for Wednesday include South Tipperary General Hospital (16), Wexford General Hospital (1) and Kilkenny's St Luke's Hospital (9).
