September and October are set to be full of comedy, music, and storytelling in Dungarvan

Dungarvan Town Hall Theatre has announced details of its upcoming shows, and they are sure to entertain.

Kicking off on Friday, September 4, Barbara Scully will be bringing her one-woman show, ‘Because I’m Worth It’ to the venue.

Barbara is a familiar voice on Irish radio, and one half of the popular ‘So You Think You’re An Adult’ slot on Newstalk’s Moncrieff.

Her new show will explore the subject of getting older, in particular, “what happens when a woman in her sixties finally puts herself front and centre in her own life.”

The show is a mix of stand-up comedy and storytelling, and you can book tickets here.

Saturday, September 19 will see writer and performer Tadhg J. Devery take the stage with ‘Pints, Dentures & Rock ’n’ Roll’.

Following the success of ‘A Day in the Country’, Tadhg’s new show promises to be of rural Irish chaos, with “fed-up farmers, drunken plumbers, failed musicians and even an undertaker with some unusual ideas about recycling the dead.”

Tickets for ‘Pints, Dentures & Rock ’n’ Roll’ are available here.

Rounding out the Autumn lineup is ‘Songs and Stories from a Life in Music: An Evening with Ronan Collins’.

Ronan has a storied history in radio, but his career began in music. He started off working as a DJ, before playing venues across the country as a drummer for bands including The Others and Dickie Rock’s showband.

Many will know him from RTÉ Radio 1, where The Ronan Collins Show became a much-loved national institution. From 1985 until 2022, his lunchtime programme brought together generations of music, ranging from Irish showbands and country to pop, rock, soul and contemporary performers.

This evening will present a special opportunity to hear the stories behind the songs, from a man with decades of experience.

You can purchase tickets for ‘Songs and Stories from a Life in Music: An Evening with Ronan Collins’ here.
