A planning application has been submitted to Waterford City and County Council
Plans have been revealed for the construction of 26 houses for older people in Waterford city.
Planning permission is being sought for the development at an address of Rockcastle, Ozanam Street, Rathfadden.
The development would see the construction of 26 single-storey residential units for older people.
These would include 22 two-bedroom bungalow units and four one-bed bungalow units. 10 of these houses would be universally accessible units.
The development would include alterations to the existing access road at the junction with Ozanam Street and the widening of this existing access road to provide for two-way vehicular access and new pedestrian access.
Works on vehicular parking, landscaping, open spaces and drainage are also planned.
As well as that, a number of associated site works would be undertaken.
The planning application was submitted by Fiztur Ltd on September 4 and is currently at the pre-validation stage.
If deemed valid, a decision by Waterford City and County Council is expected by October 29.
