Speculation is increasing that international act, Coldplay, will play a gig in Croke Park next year following a message posted at their recent gig in Amsterdam.
A message #coldplaydublin appeared on screen at their concert at the Johan Cruiff Arena appearing to confirm a Dublin date. Watch out for the Dublin mention in the message below.
And to add to the mystery, a Coldplay date appeared briefly on the Ticketmaster site, only to disappear almost immediately.
This is not the first incident of this type, with Noel Gallagher's upcoming Royal Hospital Kilmainham gig along with Primal Scream and Happy Mondays being posted prematurely. It was removed and then later reposted, once all the details of the gig had been finalised.
Coldplay are on a run of sell-out gigs in Europe and there was much disappointment that an Irish gig was not included.
High insurance costs were cited as the reasons for Chris Martin and co not including an Irish show.
Waiting for Lyon to show up…….. https://t.co/eJ8QAP0zYX pic.twitter.com/0nV59xtdjs

Certainly there is pent-up demand for the Coldplay show, with the Ticketmaster posting in circulation appearing to show a date of August 30, 2024 for their Croke Park gig.
