Appeal to find missing 55-year-old man stood down following discovery of body

An appeal seeking information on the whereabouts of a missing Louth man has stood down following the discovery of a body. 

Gardaí issued an appeal on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 for information on the whereabouts of 55-year-old David Cooney who was last seen at his home in Dundalk, Co Louth on Monday, June 26.

Following the discovery of a man's body on June 29, 2023 in the Drumad area of Co.Louth, the missing person appeal for David Cooney has been stood down.

An Garda Síochána would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance.
