Uisce Éireann has now completed a temporary repair at the Dungarvan Water Treatment Plant following a mechanical pump failure that disrupted water supply to thousands of customers in the area over the past couple of days.
The areas impacted by the disruption included Abbeyside, Ballinroad, Clonea, Knocknagrannagh, Burgery, Ballinacourty, Dungarvan, and surrounding areas.
Uisce Éireann advised that although the issue has been resolved, it will take time for the network to fully recover and for normal supply to return to all customers impacted by the disruption.
Water restrictions were in place overnight from 11pm to 7pm to help the network recharge and return full supply to all customers.
However, customers may continue to experience low water pressure or intermittent outages throughout Friday as final repairs are completed.
Maura Phelan, Water Operations Manager at Uisce Éireann, said: "We understand how disruptive this is for our customers. I want to thank the community for their continued patience and urge everyone to conserve water as supply returns. Our priority is to complete repairs safely and efficiently to minimise further inconvenience."
