Among those who attended was 14-year-old Lexi Murphy from Annestown, Waterford, who received a liver and kidney transplant from a deceased donor when she was six years old.
During the service, she brought her ballet shoes to the altar representing the dance art form she enjoys.
"I'm able to do stuff now that I wasn't able to do before the transplant. I'm very thankful and if it wasn't for them (the donor), I probably wouldn't be here," she Lexi told RTÉ News.
