Waterford Gardaí are investigating a theft of a catalytic converter from a car in Ferrybank.
The car was reportedly parked on Mayfield Road when the incident occurred at approximately 2am on Friday morning (November 18).
Anyone with dash cam/CCTV footage is asked to contact Waterford Garda Station.
It comes following what Gardaí are calling a "recent spate of catalytic converter thefts".
A catalytic converter was also taken from a car in Mount Sion between 8pm on Thursday and 8am on Friday.
In a post published to the Garda Síochána's Waterford/Kilkenny/Carlow Facebook page, Gardaí stated: "If you see any suspicious activity around vehicles, especially Hybrid Toyotas which have some of the most valuable items, please contact us immediately as you would for any suspected crime in progress.
Any vehicle can have these devices stolen as all contain precious metals with a high scrap value. Remember if you see something, say something..."
More information in relation to the thefts and how to protect a car can be found on their Facebook page.
