Two areas of Waterford remain without electricity today, Thursday, in the aftermath of Storm Agnes.
A number of houses in the Kilmeaden area were without power supply this morning as the clean up after Storm Agnes gets underway.
The power cut began just after 8pm yesterday evening at Marshmeadows, affecting 39 houses. Power is expected to be restored around 5pm on Thursday evening.
A further 14 homes are without power at Deerpark, Near Crehana, just south of Carrick-on-Suir. They lost power at around 2pm on Wednesday and are expected to have supply reconnected by 1pm today.
At least 2,000 homes and businesses around the country were estimated to be without power on Thursday morning in the aftermath of Storm Agnes.
ESB Networks said its crews are continuing to work to restore supply.
The storm hit Ireland yesterday and caused flooding as well as travel disruption, with fallen trees blocking roads. Flights and ferries were also affected.
There were traffic delays in Waterford caused by fallen trees. Waterford Co Council had diversions in place in a number of locations including Kilminnin nr Stradbally, R680 Pouldrew : Kilmeaden-Darrigle Cross and the L40264 Gortaclode.
