The festival will take place on February 7

Le Chéile is proud to announce Rock Against Racism on Friday, February 7 at 8pm in Electric Avenue, 12 John Street, Waterford.

There is no cover charge on the door, but donations are welcome to help cover costs.

Organiser Rohana Perera said: “We firmly believe that there is more that unites us than divides us, and nothing demonstrates this more than music.

We will have a lineup of brilliant artists who have donated their time to make this a fantastic night of poetry and music, including Parking, Bad Mothers Union, Don Monte, Aliens in Caves, Poet: Wayne Power, DJ Ben LeHaine and more acts to be announced. Activist and performer Jimi Cullen will MC the night.”

Spokesperson Conor Kavanagh added, “Waterford is a welcoming county, with open and friendly people and a vibrant history of music and resistance.

“Join us: Celebrate Diversity! Say No to Division!”

Le Chéile is a coalition working together to promote diversity and unite communities and challenge racism and bigotry in all its forms.

Rock Against Racism events will be happening across several counties this year, with successful events in Kilkenny and Wexford over the winter in 2024.
