Motorists warned roadworks on busy Waterford road are set to continue

The roadworks will continue to cause delays during School drop-off and collection times in the affected area
Waterford City and County Council is advising motorists that roadworks on the L5529 Knockboy Road are set to continue until the end of September.
The works, between The Riverside Cottage and St. Mary’s Church, Ballygunner, are being carried out in order to provide drainage upgrades to facilitate housing developments in the area.
In a public notice, the local authority says delays can be expected for the duration of the works, particularly with schools re-opening following the summer holidays.
“While every effort will be made to minimise disruption, delays can be expected, particularly during school drop-off and collection times,” reads the notice.
The local authority has apologised for any inconvenience caused and it has thanked road users and local residents for their patience and cooperation.
The exact date for the conclusions of the works has not been confirmed.
