Powerstown Park to host fun walk/run to support Clonmel woman Emma Lacey

A family fun walk/run will take place in Powerstown Park, Clonmel on this Sunday September 16th at 12 noon to support the Emma Lacey Trust.

The fun walk/run is being held as a fundraiser by The Emma Lacey Trust, which was established in August to support 23 year-old Clonmel woman Emma Lacey, who underwent brain surgery in recent weeks and is to undergo her sixth spinal surgery in as many years because of progressive diseases of her spine.
Friends, neighbours and family members have come together to raise funds to provide an accessible downstairs bedroom/wetroom for Emma at her home and to put a fund in place for future medical needs in the long journey ahead.
"It will be an enjoyable event and we would like as many as possible to join us for a walk or a jog around Powerstown Park on Sunday morning next. All are welcome," said Peadar Furlong, one of the organisers of the event.
Music will be provided by the popular Billy Bop and teas/coffees and snacks for all participants will be provided

"Since The Emma Lacey Trust was set up the people of Clonmel and the surrounding area have been incredibly generous and supportive. There are sponsorship cards in circulation for the walk/run and these are also available from Marian's Bookshop.
“However, anyone without a card is more than welcome to take part on the day and give a donation," said Martina O Reilly, one of the event organisers.
The walk/run will start at 12 noon and those taking part are asked to arrive from 11.45 onwards.
Entry is by the gate to Powerstown Park opposite the entrance to Star Fuels, just off the bypass.
