A 'bloody enormous' tree crashes into home

A tree weighing 48.5 tonnes was removed by tree surgeons using cranes following its collapse onto a house in Limerick during Storm Éowyn.

Dr Maura Adshead and her husband and fellow Professor Neil Robinson share the home together along with their 22 year old daughter in Castleconnell Limerick and said they are "massively lucky to be alive".

Alan English on X shared a post as he was neighbours with the family who are lucky to be alive.

"Our poor neighbours had a bloody enormous beech crash into their house while they were sleeping. That piece in the fourth picture weighed 11.5 tonne alone," he said.
