CANCELLED: Irish transport services disrupted after heavy snow with more on the way

Heavy snowfall in parts of the country has caused disruptions to transport services around the country.

Bus Eireann have issued disruption updates to their services on January 5, 2025.

Two services have been cancelled from Limerick to Cork at 8:35am and from Cork to Limerick at 11:25am.

Bus Eireann also cancelled several other services on the morning of Sunday, January 5, including Tralee to Cork at 7:30 and Cork to Tralee at 12:30pm.

The Cork to Galway service at 11:25am has also been cancelled due to orange weather warnings.

Transport for Ireland has recommended that all public transport users check with the TFI app and Bus Eireann website for the latest information when planning your journey. 

Irish Rail have updated on X that they are not receiving weather related issues, and that all services are operating.

This is excluding operations from Connolly to Grand Canal Dock due to scheduled works being carried out.

Irish Rail have called for its passengers to:

  • Consider if your journey is necessary 
  • Allow extra time for your journey 
  • Walk, don't run on platforms
  • Delays and disruption may occur

Updates will be posted on Irishrail.ie for more information. 

Met Eireann weather warnings for snow and ice remain in place across the country until 5pm on Sunday evening. 

For local public transport updates in your area, it is advised by TFI to stay updated using the TFI local link online subjected to your local area.
