Busy taxi rank to temporarily close to facilitate Waterford Harvest Festival

Rank at Peter Street will be closed from 6am this Friday until 10pm on Sunday, September 8

Members of the public are being advised that a busy taxi rank in Waterford city will be closed this weekend as the Waterford Harvest Festival takes place.

In a public notice, the local authority says the rank at Peter Street will be closed from 6am this Friday until 10pm on Sunday, September 8.

"Temporary taxi ranks will be available at Patrick Street and High Street for the duration of the closure," reads the notice. 

Now in its 15th year Waterford Harvest Festival, celebrates great food and the people who produce it.

Taking place in venues across Waterford City, it promises to be a treat for the senses with food demos and talks, honey making, storytelling, fine dining experiences, fantastic food offerings from local restaurants, live music and lots of free family entertainment across the city.  

Around 45,000 people are expected to attend the festival which takes place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Highlights this year include live performances from Andy Irvine and The Hothouse Flowers, an exclusive fine dining experience in City Hall with Keith Boyle, cooking demonstrations by The Happy Pear, storytelling with Eddie Lenihan and the Food Market.
