A man and a woman are being questioned at a garda station in Waterford
A man and a woman are being questioned by gardai following a significant drugs seizure in County Waterford.
As part of an intelligence-led operation involving the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, members of the Waterford County Drugs Unit and Revenue's Customs Service, a total of €229,000 of suspected illegal cannabis and THC was seized in Lismore this Monday.
"Revenue Customs Officers seized 10.35kg of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €207,000. Further products containing suspected THC, with an estimate value of €22,000, were seized by An Garda Síochána in a follow-up search," said a garda spokesperson.

One man, aged in his 40s and a woman, aged in her 30s, were arrested in connection with the investigation.
They are currently detained pursuant to Section 2 of Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996, at a garda Station in Co Waterford.
Subject to court orders, they can be detained for up to 72 hours without charge.
Gardai say the investigations are ongoing and that the seized drugs will now be subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland.
