The Teddy Bear Hospital will return to Waterford for its third year this weekend, with the aim of helping children to learn about medical environments in a "calm and positive way."
Run by Juniors for Juniors, the Teddy Bear Hospital invites children to bring a soft toy to be "treated" by a team of volunteers.
It will take place this Saturday from 10am to 3:30pm at The Department of Nursing and Healthcare in the SETU O'Connell Bianconi Building on the Cork Road.
"We have seen over the past two years just how powerful this event is for young children. It helps them learn about hospitals in a calm and positive way, while also giving families a wonderful day out. Seeing the smiles and confidence grow as the children care for their teddies is truly special, and we are so excited to welcome everyone back for our third year," Janet O’Neill, Co-Founder of Juniors for Juniors, said.

The event promises to be "a fun, educational and reassuring hospital experience" that promotes understanding in a "gentle and playful way."
