Minister John Cummins, his wife Inga and their newborn baby Seán
Waterford TD and Minister of State John Cummins and his wife Inga have announced the birth of their first child.
The Fine Gael TD made the announcement on his Facebook page on Thursday, November 27.
The post stated: “Inga and I are delighted to welcome our baby boy - Seán Cummins into the world, albeit much earlier than expected.
“We would like to sincerely thank the amazing team at University Hospital Waterford (UHW) for the wonderful care and attention they have and continue to provide.
“We’re grateful for all the calls and texts we’ve received, sorry if I haven’t gone back to people yet.

“2025 - What a crazy year you’ve been!”, Minister Cummins concluded.
The birth of the minister’s first child comes less than a year after he was elected to the Dáil for the first time.
He has since been appointed Minister of State at the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.
Minister Cummins has been a mainstay in Waterford politics since he was first elected to Waterford City Council in 2009.
He has twice served as Mayor of Waterford and he was also elected to the Seanad in 2020.
He married his wife Inga in 2019 and the couple live together in Waterford.
