Decision due soon on construction of large housing development and crèche in Waterford
Waterford City and County Council are due to make a decision this week on a planning application for the construction of a housing development consisting of 95 homes as well as a crèche outside Waterford City.
Liam Neville Developments submitted the application on Wednesday, 7 May and now the Council is due to decide on Tuesday, 1 July.
The application is the proposed second and final phase of a housing development at Cul Dara on Williamstown Road in Waterford.
Planning permission had previously been granted on the site, subject to conditions, in May, 2024 for 74 homes to be built. They are currently under construction.

The total site area is 4.86Ha and this application looks to build on 2.5Ha of this which sits behind the current construction zone.
According to the planning application, the development would consist of a two-storey crèche and 95 residential units.
These residential units would comprise of 18 two-storey, three-bedroom semi-detached houses; 37 two-storey, three-bedroom terraced and end-of-terrace houses; and 8 two-storey, two-bedroom terraced houses.
There would also be 4 two-storey blocks, each containing 4 two-bedroom units and 2 three-bedroom units (total 24units); 1 three-storey duplex block containing 4 two-storey, two-bedroom units and 4 one-bedroom units (total 8units).
The application also states that the development will be accessed via the existing Cul Dara access road and will include public open spaces, cycle parking and all associated site works and infrastructure services. There will be 110 car parking spaces as well.
