Gardai examine CCTV following spate of break-ins to cars across Waterford city

Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have information or relevant video doorbell footage of any of the incidents to contact them and to make the footage available

Gardai investigating spate of break-ins to cars in Waterford city and its environs are examining CCTV footage in an effort to identify the culprits.

In an appeal for witnesses, they say they have received reports of a number of cars being broken into or damaged as well as reported attempted thefts of the vehicles.

"This spans right across the city," said a spokesperson. There

Some of the locations involved include, the O’Reilly Road area of the city just off the Cork Road, Lismore Lawn, Lisduggan, Hazelbourne and in Ardkeen Village area close to the Dunmore Road.

"Some incidents occurred over the bank holiday weekend and through into the morning of Wednesday, June 4," said the spokesperson.

CCTV has been obtained and investigations are ongoing.

According to gardai, some of the incidents are believed to have occurred early in the morning between 5am – 7am so they are anybody travelling to work at this time to be extra vigilant and to report any suspicious activities.

Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have information or relevant video doorbell footage of any of the incidents to contact them and to make the footage available.
