Tuath Housing is accepting final applications for 25 brand new Cost Rental homes at the Mountneil development in Waterford City. 

Eligible candidates looking to rent in the south-east are encouraged to apply for a home at Mountneil before the application deadline of 3pm on Friday 31 January.

Built by Frisby Homes, these energy-efficient, A-rated houses offer high-quality living at exceptional value. With rents set at €950 for a two-bed and €1,195 for a three-bed, these homes are priced an impressive 28% below the local area market average.

Mountneil is ideally located in Carrickpherish near a variety of services and amenities, including South East Technological University (Waterford Campus) and Waterford Greenway, and is within driving distance of Dungarvan, Clonmel, New Ross and Wexford town. The new homes represent the first-ever delivery of Cost Rental housing by an Approved Housing Body in Co. Waterford.

Tuath Housing is proud to deliver the second phase of Cost Rental homes at Mountneil with the support of Waterford City and County Council through the Department of Housing’s Cost Rental Equity Loan (CREL) scheme and private financing from the Housing Finance Agency (HFA).

Cost Rental:

Cost Rental is a new form of long-term home rental, with rents set at a minimum of 25% below the average local area market rent. It is not-for-profit housing where the rent you pay covers the cost of the construction, management, and maintenance of your new home. To be eligible for a Cost Rental home at Mountneil, applicants must be able to prove the following:

  • Your net household income is below €59,000 

  • You are not in receipt of any social housing supports

  • You do not own a property

  • Your household size matches the size of the property advertised

  • You can afford to pay the rent for the home

  • Your household has only entered one application for a specific Cost Rental property

Applications will be processed through an online lottery system, with successful applicants notified once the process concludes.
