A number of arrests have been made following several 'car-related' crimes in Waterford city over the past week.
In one incident, a car was stolen from outside a retail unit on the Cork Road at around midday on Monday, October 21.
"This incident occurred in broad daylight. The rear passenger door window smashed," said a garda spokesperson who added that the vehicle was recovered the next day in Kilmacthomas following a call from an off duty member of An Garda Siochana.
Separate investigations are underway following a spate of break-ins to cars on Tuesday, October 22.
"A number of cars were broken into in the city centre. The cars had their windows smashed in an attempt to steal items from the vehicles," said the spokesperson who added that there was also an attempt to steal one of the vehicles but that the culprit was unsuccessful.
