Gardai say 17-year-old Jake Hafford has been located 'safe and well'

Gardaí have issued an update regarding the whereabouts of a 17-year-old boy who was reported missing from his home in Waterford city more than two weeks ago.

A major appeal for assistance in locating Jake Hafford, was issued last month after he was reported as missing to gardai on September 18. 

At the time, they said he is known to frequent Dundalk and Drogheda in County Louth.

In an update, issued this Friday afternoon, gardai confirmed there has been a positive outcome in the case.

"Jake Hafford, 17-years-old, who was missing from Waterford City since Wednesday, September 18 2024, has been located safe and well," said a spokesperson in a brief statement.

No further details have been disclosed publicly and gardai have thanked members of the public for their assistance since the appeal was first issued.
