Waterford SPCA 'urgently' seeking foster home for elderly labrador with heart condition

Waterford SPCA is urgently seeking a foster home for an elderly labrador.

In an appeal posted yesterday (February 1), the animal charity stated they are seeking a home for 12 year old Coby "immediately".

Coby has reportedly been receiving treatment in their vets but now needs to be moved to a foster home for a period of four weeks until he can be permanently homed.

The appeal reads: "While he is old, he still has plenty of life in him. He is currently on heart medication. This will be ongoing and this will be provided for him. He also came to us with an ear infection which has been treated, but will need ongoing monitoring and at present, he is on a special diet to build him up.

"He is a pure dote, loves people, loves food and his walks. He has not lived with any other dogs before, but this is not an impossibility either to share a home with another dog. Ideally though, we really are looking for a quiet home for this guy, with someone willing to put time and care into him for a couple of weeks.

"He is neutered and will be vaccinated also. If you can help out in any way, or know someone who can, please do get in contact with us. The same for adopting one of our dogs applies for fostering. If you fill out our normal adoption form, or contact us by phone or email, we will get in touch with you."

If you would like to foster Coby, contact Waterford SPCA by phoning 051 841432 or emailing waterford@ispca.ie
