'Nothing suspicious' suspected following Wexford body post mortem

Gardaí say that there is "nothing at this stage to indicate suspicious circumstances" in the death of a woman whose body was found in Wexford on Monday, January 7.

A post mortem examination was carried out on Tuesday at University Hospital Waterford on the body discovered at Ballyandrew, Wexford on Monday.

It has been established that the body is that of a female in her 50s and has been there for approximately 12 months.

Further toxicology tests results are awaited but there is nothing at this stage to indicate any suspicious circumstances, according to investigators.

Investigations, including DNA tests are ongoing to confirm the identity of the body.
