Waterford gardaí and council intercept illegal waste collector

Gardaí and officials from Waterford City & County Council have taken action against an illegal waste collector.

In a joint operation conducted by Gardaí and Waterford Council staff, a collector was stopped in the county this week.

The collector was discovered to be operating without a waste collection permit.

Gardaí impounded the vehicle and the driver and illegal waste operator is now due to appear in court in the coming weeks.

Waterford Council has also made an appeal to homeowners to "always make sure your collector has a waste collection permit."
