Man pleads 'not guilty' to 2017 murder in the South East
A 32-year-old man will go on trial this afternoon charged with murdering a woman in Kilkenny in 2017.
Renars Veigulis of Old Bridge Street in Freshford was arraigned before the Central Criminal Court on Monday morning, November 12.
He is accused of murdering Rita Apine at the same address.
Mr Veigulis pleaded not guilty to murdering the 29-year-old on or about May 14, 2017, and a jury of five women and seven men was empanelled on Monday.
The trial, which is expected to last three weeks, will get underway later on Monday afternoon.
