Waterford to Dublin train collides with herd of cattle

The train services between Waterford and Dublin have been disrupted after the 11am service from Waterford  to Heuston struck a heard of cattle.

The accident happened near Thomastown in Kilkenny just before lunchtime on Saturday.

Bus transfers will be in operation between Kilkenny and Waterford for all services until further notice, Irish Rail confirmed 

No passengers on board the service were injured in the incident.
