Someone has set up a pothole tracking website after hitting a pothole in Waterford that "wrecked" their tyre and wheel.

The person posted on Reddit to share their frustration at Waterford City and County Council's pothole reporting system.

"I hit a big pothole yesterday evening and it wrecked my tyre and wheel... I reported it to the council and then had the idea of a pot hole tracking web app. My plan is to make them aware this exists as their current reporting methods are lacking," the post read.

"The more reports, the more obvious the problem is and when put in front of councillors, is harder to wiggle out of fixing the issue," the user commented back to a person questioning the website.

A link to the website was also shared and on it you can select a county and then view all reported potholes in the area.

It provides the option to add a description and a photo as well as a voting system to confirm existing reports are legitimate.

The person's plan is to gather the information on the number and severity of potholes in each local authority and send it to councillors.

In Waterford, 42 potholes had been reported at the time of writing, with the majority in and around the city centre.
