A funeral has been held in Waterford recently after a woman sadly passed away who is loved and missed greatly by many.
Ann Carroll (née Kelly) was from Shandon Lodge, Shandon in Dungarvan and formerly of Caseyville, Dungarvan in Waterford and passed away peacefully on the 5th of January 2026 in the tender care of staff at Tipperary University Hospital, Clonmel.
Predeceased by her parents Kitty and Joe, brothers-in-law John Mills, Sean and Jim Carroll, sister-in-law Geraldine Kelly (nee Whelan).
Ann is deeply mourned and sadly missed by her loving husband Tom, sons Brian and Raymond, daughter Louise, daughters-in-law Russel and Sharon, son-in-law Sean Cotter, grandchildren Katie, Shane, Callum, Sarah, Hannah, Sean, Sophie and Brion, sister Marie Mills, brothers Patrick and Dermot, sister-in-law Ann Carroll (Boola, Cappoquin), nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives and friends.
Ann's funeral was held at 11 a.m. on Friday morning, 9th January, in St. Mary's Parish Church, Dungarvan.
Heartfelt messages have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and fondly remembered Ann, with one mourner writing,
"Our heartfelt condolences Louise Sean and all of your family & friends, loved to meet up with Ann for the chats, what a fabulous person she was, always bubbly & full of chat & smiles, she will be very missed, rest in the arms of the angels Ann".
Another message said, "So saddened to learn of the passing of Ann. Got to know Ann when we were in the Gospel Choir and swimming in the Park Hotel, and many the chats we had often in town. Sincere sympathy to Tom and family, to Ann's brothers and sister and all her grandchildren".
"Condolences to Anne’s husband Tom, daughter Louise and Sons. I have fond memories of Anne in Dungarvan Gospel Choir many moons ago - a very pleasant lady. May you be greatly rewarded now you have reached eternal happiness," another person said.
"Deeply saddened and shocked to hear of Ann's passing .Lovely memories of our days in The Gospel Choir and swimming in The Park. Condolences to Tom and family. May Ann rest in gentle peace, "Stephen and Betty of the Tutty The Burgery said.
