A total of €1600 of stolen retail property was recovered from gardai in Dungarvan last weekend alone

Waterford gardai crack down on shoplifting as items worth hundreds of euro stolen

Garda on patrol in Dungarvan recently detected a large amount of items stolen in shops around the town amidst the busy Christmas period.

Gardai said that a total of €1600 of stolen retail property was recovered on the weekend last by vigilant members of the gardai local Roads Policing Unit and Community Engagement members attached to Dungarvan Garda Station.

Gardai said that "Operation Táirge is currently in place across Waterford County and City to detect and reduce retail thefts".
