Waterford mum of four requests bright colours at funeral

Tributes have poured in following the sad passing of Waterford local Margo (Margaret) McDonagh.

Margo died on 7th June 2025 and messages of condolences have flowed in from people who knew and loved her.

She will be sadly missed by her sons Gearóid and Niall, daughters Ciara and Sinéad, son-in-law Rob, daughter-in-law Deb, grandchildren, great grandson, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements: 

Margo’s funeral cortege will drive on Saturday14th June, past the Prom in Tramore in Waterford on route to Newlands Cross Crematorium for Cremation at 1:00pm.

Margo has requested all those attending her funeral should wear bright coloured clothing.

Heartfelt messages have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and fondly remembered Margo, with one mourner writing,

"So sad to hear of Margo’s passing, remembering great times, great holidays and positive vibes. Hope there’s plenty of fun and games in the afterlife. Sweet dreams pal."

Another message said, "Deepest sympathy to Ciara, Gearoid, Sinead, Niall and all the family on the loss of your gorgeous Mam. A lovely lady, full of fun. Thinking of you all".

"Deepest sympathy to the family of Margo on her passing. Remembering with fondness the fun nights we had in the Springfield playing whist and the 10,9,8 game afterwards with her great buddy Marguerite. Always enjoyed being in her company. Rest in peace Margo," another person wrote.

"Ciara, Gearoid, Sinead & Niall, I am so sorry for the loss of your Mum. Words are never enough. Your Mum was very dear to me, and she was my mother's lifelong dear friend. RIP," another tribute said.
