Popular Waterford woman paid tribute by community

Tributes have poured in for popular Waterford woman Majella Ryan (Raymond) who passed away recently and known by all in her community as a 'kind and beautiful woman'.

Majella was from Carriglea, Dungarvan in Waterford and died on May 19 2025.
She will be sadly missed by her loving family, sisters Mary Ryan, Mairead Marsh and Anne-Marie O Connor, brothers Michael, Liam, Philip and Noel, her adored nieces and nephews Patrick, John, Barry, Michael, Joe, Aoife, Declan, Conor, Damien, Paraic, Laura, Aine, Orla, Jamie and Diarmuid, sisters-in-law Bridget, Aileen, Josephine, brothers-in-law Michael, Tadgh and Ned, her cherished life long friends and staff in Carriglea Services and 11 & 12 Geal Gua, Dungarvan, Co. Waterford.

Funeral Arrangements:

Reposing at Whelan's Funeral Home, Bansha Road, Tipperary on Wednesday evening May 21st 2025 from 5:30pm to 7pm. Mass for Majella will take place in St. Patrick's Church, Cullen, Co. Tipperary on Thursday May 22nd 2025 at 12noon and burial afterwards in St. Michael's Cemetery, Tipperary Town.

Heartfelt messages have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and fondly remembered Majella, with the staff at 12 Gael Gua writing,

"Sincere sympathy to Majellas familiy and all the ladies and staff at 12 Gael Gua on Majellas passing. My sister Mary Condon is one of her friends living in the house. Rest in peace.

Another message said, "Very sorry to hear of Majellas passing. I knew her in Gael Gua and she was a pleasure to care for. She had a great sense of humour and of course a great sense of style. May she rest in peace.

"Deepest condolences to all of Majella's family and friends. Thinking of you all at this sad time. It was a privilege to have worked with such a kind and beautiful person. Her smile lit up a whole room. She loved her family, her style and Dunnes stores might just have lost their best customer. Your friends in 11 Geal Gua will never forget you Majella. A bed in heaven for you. May Majella rest in peace," another mourner wrote.
