Waterford family takes on trek for suicide prevention

A family in Waterford is taking on a 4000km challenge to raise funds for suicide prevention.

Three cousins from West Waterford are on a mission to cycle across Europe, in a bid to raise money for Pieta House and West Waterford Suicide Prevention.

The three men have set up a GoFundMe campaign to raise money “for a good cause”.

“Three cousins from West Waterford who got a mad notion to attempt to cycle across Europe. We will be raising money for Suicide Prevention along the way. We will be raising money for both Pieta House and West Waterford Suicide Prevention,” said organiser Ryan Connor.

“Starting in Amsterdam and working our way down covering a total of nine countries, and finishing in Athens, 4000km. We have very little training and absolutely no idea what we are in for, worse case we don't make it, but still have a bit of craic and a few pints along the way, while raising money for a good cause,” he added.
