Members of the public are being invited to save the date and visit Waterford garda station over the June bank holiday weekend when it hosts a free open day.
In addition to being able to tour the garda station and meet with members of specialist garda units, those who attend will also have an opportunity to meet with other emergency services and voluntary organisations and learn about what they do on a daily basis.

Other agencies and organisations taking part in the open day include the Irish Coast Guard, Waterford City Fire Service, Mountain Rescue Ireland, Waterford First Responder Group, Waterford City River Rescue, Waterford Marine Search & Rescue, Waterford Civil Defence, the National Ambulance Service and the Order of Malta Ambulance Corps.

The open day takes place between 1pm and 4pm on bank holiday Monday, June 3 and is free to attend.
The organisers say the first hour will be a quiet hour (no emergency lights or sirens) for the comfort of anyone with sensory issues.
