A driver was caught in Waterford travelling at over 50 kiliometres in excess of the speeding limit over the weekend.
And the Sunday drive undertaken by the driver proved to be a particularly costly one.
The Waterford's Roads Policing Unit detected this car travelling at 154kph in a 100kph zone on the N25 on Sunday afternoon.
They were stopped and the driver was issued a €280 fine and 3 penalty points.
Fines for such speeding offences doubled last year, meaning the driver is facing a pretty hefty bill for the speeding offence, not to mention the added insurance costs associated with the three penalty points.
