Gardai foil fake taxi driver in Waterford

An unlicensed taxi driver was stopped by Gardai in Waterford recently.

The Waterford Roads Policing Unit in conjunction with the NTA National Transport Authority carried out an operation targeting unlicensed taxi drivers on Wednesday, May 10.

"The driver below was operating as a taxi and carrying passengers at the time. The driver did not have a Small Public Services Vehicle Licence, the vehicle was not a licenced taxi and the correct policy of insurance was not in place,” Gardai said.

"Proceedings have commenced,” Gardai added.
