Waterford’s strong start to the Allianz Hurling League will be put to the test this weekend when Peter Queally’s side travel to UPMC Nowlan Park to face Kilkenny in a clash that will be shown live on TV.
The Déise go into Sunday’s Division 1A meeting sitting third in the table with four points from their opening three outings, firmly in the mix behind leaders Cork and just behind Tipperary on score difference.
After a difficult opening night away to Cork, Waterford have responded well with back-to-back home wins at Walsh Park.
They edged Limerick 1-21 to 0-20 in Round 2 before following up with another solid display in Round 3, beating Offaly 1-19 to 0-16 to keep their title hopes firmly alive.
Now comes a major step up in difficulty as the Déise head to Nowlan Park, one of the toughest venues in the country, against a formidable Kilkenny side on home soil.
TG4 are set to broadcast the game live as Waterford look to build on recent momentum and stay in the hunt at the business end of Division 1A.
Throw-in is at 1.45pm on Sunday at UPMC Nowlan Park.
