Defence Forces bomb squad and Gardaí at Waterford Courthouse following discovery of suspicious device

Waterford Courthouse was evacuated this morning following the discovery of a suspicious device.

The alarm was raised around 10.30am and Gardaí and the Defence Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit are currently at the scene.

City Square Shopping Centre was also evacuated today as a precaution following a security alert. Gardaí searched the shopping centre, found nothing suspicious and it has since reopened.
