RIP: Tributes paid to Waterford woman who had a 'big heart and a big smile'

Josephine Barry Carroll - Passage East, Co. Waterford - Thursday 15th May 2025

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Josephine Barry Carroll late of Passage East, Waterford.

Josephine passed away at U.H.W. surrounded by her loving family on Thursday the 15th of May 2025.

Pre-deceased by her father Seamus, mother Nora, brother John and sister Teresa.

Much loved wife of Seamus and loving mother of Sarah, Nicky, Seamus and Liam. Josephine will be sadly missed by her brothers Eddie, Jim, Declan, Michael, Vincent, Robert, Paul and Raymond, her sisters Geraldine, Trisha, Laura and Deirdre, daughter-in-law Leona, her adored grandson Ben, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives, and friends.

Tributes have been paid in the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: 

"Sincere sympathy to Josie's family at this saddest of times. A big heart and a big smile. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam uasal."

Another reads:

"Just heartbroken to hear of Josies passing. Our deepest condolences to Sheamus and all of Josies family. You will be sorely missed by us all in furrys. You will never be forgotton Josie. For all the laughs and humour you brought to us on our nights out. May you Rest In Eternal Peace our friend. Love always."

Funeral Arrangements

Reposing at her residence 22 Hillside Drive, Crooke, Passage East, Co. Waterford on Sunday May 18th from 4.00pm until 7.00pm.

House Private at all other times please

Requiem mass on Monday May 19th in St. John the Baptist Church, Crooke, Passage East at 11.30am., followed by burial in Crooke Cemetery.
