A woman has been taken to hospital after an alleged stabbing on the altar of a church in County Waterford this morning.
Emergency services are at the scene of the incident which occurred at the Holy Cross Church in Tramore.
As reported by WLRFM, a woman in her 50s is alleged to have been stabbed on the altar of the church.
She has since been transferred to University Hospital Waterford with injuries which are believed to be non-life threatening.
A male is reported to have been taken into custody in connection with the incident.
