Hennessey’s Gala, Kilmeaden announced as overall winner of Best Marketing within the Gala Retail Group
Staff and management at a convenience store in County Waterford are celebrating after it won a second prestigious award in a matter of weeks.
Following on from winning a Gala Retail Excellence Award in early September, everyone at Hennessey’s Gala, Kilmeaden, are once again celebrating after the store was announced as the overall winner of Best Marketing within the Gala Retail Group.
The Gala Retail event marked the end of the Group’s 25th year of anniversary celebrations which brought Gala retailers, wholesalers and suppliers together over four days.

Compered by comedian, Barry Murphy, Ireland and Munster rugby legend, Ronan O’Gara was the guest of honour, with Irish band, Spring Break closing a special gala evening.
The Gala Retail category awards are the highest accolades within the Group, and the prestigious award-win for Hennessey’s Gala, owned by Majella and Damien Hennessey, recognises the store’s commitment to engaging with its local community.
Congratulating Majella and Damien Hennessey on their success, Gary Desmond, CEO of Gala Retail, said: “They have regularly demonstrated the importance of their local community within their marketing strategy. From promotions to amplifying Gala Group activations at a local level, the store is committed to always marketing the business, which has in turn led to solid and loyal community support. Hennessey’s Gala is a deserving winner and we wish the store continued success.”
Just last month, Hennessey's Gala was acknowledged at the Gala group’s Excellence Awards for demonstrating exemplary standards in convenience retailing, winning a Gala Excellence Award.
