A man was attacked and robbed while out walking a dog in Waterford city late last Monday night as gardaí now appeal for witnesses.
The incident happened at around 10pm on Monday, March 9, when two men were walking on Hennessey Road before turning onto Ashe Road.
According to Waterford gardaí, one of the men was approached by a group of five males and was then punched and kicked.
Gardaí said that while the injured party was on the ground, the group stole his bag, which contained a mobile phone and a sum of cash.
The group then made off in the direction of Lisduggan.
The main instigator of the assault is described as wearing grey tracksuit bottoms, trainers and a black Nike puffer jacket.
Gardaí are now asking anyone who was in the area on Monday night, March 9, and who may have seen the incident or who can help identify those involved, to come forward.
