Couple who died of suspected murder-suicide to be laid to rest

THE FUNERAL arrangements for Joe and Claire Collins, who died following a suspected murder-suicide, have been announced.

The bodies of the married couple, Claire (51) and Joe (54) were discovered at their home in Kilnaboy, near Corofin, Clare on Thursday, November 9.

The body of Ms Collins was found inside the bungalow, while the remains of Mr Collins were discovered outside, after which gardaí were alerted.

Tributes have been paid to the couple, who have two adult daughters, Sara and Tara. Mr and Mrs Collins had just recently become grandparents.

"Very sad to hear this couple had a premature end to there life - hope the family will find peace and forgiveness will be found. Rip," one anonymous message of sympathy read.

The couple's funeral mass will take place at 11am in St. Brigid's Church, Corofin on Monday, November 13, followed by cremation service at Shannon Crematorium at 2pm.
